Letting go

"In the process of letting go, you will lose many things from the past, but you will find yourself." (Deepak Chopra)

This week we have been practising a "moon sequence" and meditating on letting go. As the moon is waning, it seemed like a good time to introduce a practice centred on the effort to stop getting dragged down by people, situations or ideas that do not serve us.

We also practised bow pose, as in the picture, but students were encouraged to stay with locust pose instead if they preferred it.

I think it is very important to make it clear that yogis and yoginis are in control of their own practice and can always chose what to do and what not to do. When to rest, when to move. Yoga is personal, and it changes with the practitioner. I am not there to tell people what to do, but to gently lead them towards developing an ability to connect with their body and breath and emotions - - hence, to the present moment. And I just love this🙏💜.
